When I first read the title of the blog, I didn't really understand the meaning. However, I told myself that I should read this blog because it has long paragraphs (it's very interesting). At first, I didn't understand why someone would say this, "I'll never understand the word get. It has so many meanings!", but then, after reading the whole blog, I just realized that it is true. The word 'get' has many meanings, for example, get into line which indicates a change in position, he got drunk which indicates a change in state, get a pay rise which indicates a change in possession, etc. I think this is very useful for English learners and also English teachers, especially for those who just started learning about English.
Hi Vena,
ReplyDeleteit is same when I read this blog. Actually, I want to comment in my blog about "getting to grips with get" but when I want to write in blog, I had problem, so I just read that blog. But, when I read the blog I also did not understand because it has long paragraph and make me confused. Overall, the blog is very useful for English learners and English teachers.
Hi Maria! Yes, I know it's very long, isn't it? But it's very useful for us.
DeleteHola Vena,
ReplyDeleteafter I read about your article, I just realized that simple word has lots of meaning that maybe ignored for several people. It was a simple example but that's really good tho. Thanks :)
Hi Anggie! That's right, that word is a bit confusing to me, and this article really helps me to understand more about it. I hope you understand it too.
DeleteHi Vena,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you forced yourself to read the "get" article from ELTnotebook. Mastering collocations and phrasal verbs is a real struggle for English language learners. That's these blogs are powerful learning tools to clarify our confusions.
Hi Ms. Priska! Yeahh, I like to read long paragraphs hehehe
DeleteYou're right. I'm still learning about it and sometimes it's a bit confusing.
Hi Vena!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Miss Priska. It's great that you have forced yourself to read the blog which you have mentioned.
Frankly, if I were you, I wouldn't force myself. Hehe. At first I opened all of the 6 blog then I chose the one which has the fewest word in each post. Hahaha...
However, thank you for summarizing the post in the blog which you have mentioned above. :)
Hi Mily! Well, you should force yourself.. this one's really interesting and you'll get to know more about 'get'. But if you don't want to, you can just read from my post hehehe
DeleteHi Vena. Its true that 1 word has a lot of meaning. It quite interesting for us to learning that. It makes us more intelligent to use kind of words.
