Storynory - Stories for Kids

Storynory is an online treasure-trove of free audio stories. Published every week since November 2005, Storynory has grown in popularity. This is just a short explanation about storynory. If you want to read more about it, you can just click here.

From the storynory, we were told to pick a story. We can choose it from fairytales, myths, educational stories, or stories written by kids. For my storynory, I chose the story from educational stories. The story that I pick is Swan Lake (Questions for Swan Lake). The audio is there, along with the passage from the audio, so you can just read the passage while listening to the audio. There are also questions below the passage to help you understand more about the story. I also made an online true and false quiz with socrative. Socrative is a classroom app for fun, effective classroom engagement. Socrative allows us to instantly connect with students as learning happens. Click here if you want to know more about socrative.
Below this is the steps on how to make an online quiz with socrative:
1. Open socrative.com or just click here. The home page will look like this.
 

2. Then, click on the teacher login. Fill in your e-mail and password if you already have an account, but if you don't have one you can click on create account or just sign in with google.

    

3. Click quizzes (next to launch) and then click add quiz on the right side of the page. Choose 'create new'.

    

4. There are 3 options on how to make the quiz with socrative. You can choose either multiple choice, true / false, or short answer. For example, I use true / false questions in my quiz. You don't have to use true / false questions in your whole quiz, you can mix it with multiple choice or short answer questions.

5. When you type the questions, don't forget to check and make sure that the questions are correct, and the answers are correct as well. You can also add pictures and explanations which are related to the questions and answers.

6. If you have finished, click save and exit, your quiz file will be saved in your account.

The benefit of using this free online quiz maker is that teachers don't have to calculate the scores manually, they just need to type the questions and answers and the scores will be counted automatically. Also, it is very fun and it saves a lot of time.

The drawback from using this free online quiz maker is that it would be very difficult and complicated if we don't know how to use it.
