Jigsaw Collaborative Writing

          This is my first time using google docs, and personally, it is very interesting. I was told to make a group of 4 people to make an argumentative essay about teachers versus technology. My role in this collaborative writing is as the initiator. Creating the google docs file, sharing the link to my group mates and my lecturer, and making sure that the document I have made is set in editing mode so that my group mates can edit it as well are my contributions related to my role. However, there were some things I did which were not related to my role at all. I searched about the argumentative essay, which should've been done by the outlining facilitator. I also made too many revisions by myself which made me feel like I was doing it alone and it made me feel bad towards my group mates.
          Doing a collaborative writing in google docs was very fun for me, because I enjoy writing, and there were funny moments when we interacted through the chats. It was pretty successful, actually, considering that it was my first time and I was a bit confused at first. However, there were also some things which weren't successful, for instance, we were told not to talk to each other because the purpose is to talk through google docs, but my group mates talked while we were giving our opinions. It was a bit hard, because we made the essay in one room and we sat next to each other.
          It was also a bit difficult to arrange our schedules because we have different activities outside of campus, for example I have to help my mother as soon as I got home so I easily forget what I need to do at that time.
          When designing a collaborative writing assignment for my students, I would prefer to do it in an online class rather than physical class, because that way we can make sure that the students won't talk to each other and they will talk through the google docs.
