Nearpod is an interactive classroom for teachers to engage students with interactive lessons. Previously, I used TED ED to make my lesson. It was very helpful and simple. And now, there is another application to make your lesson more interesting.
The type of setting for the learning context is everyday learning, so you can open it anytime and everywhere you want. The target students for my lesson is 2nd graders, because the topic of my subject I made with my partner is about singular and plural. The objectives are for the students to understand the difference between singular and plural and how to use both of them properly in sentences.
To open my lesson, you can go to nearpod.com, or just click here. The page will look like this.
Next, type the code of the lesson you're going to join. Make sure that you have typed the code correctly or you won't be able to enter the class.
The first slide of my nearpod will be shown after you enter my class code. It will look like this.
There is a short quiz before the lesson, the goal is to know how far the students understand about the lesson I'm going to give to them.
After the quiz, there is a video which will explain about the lesson (singular and plural). And after the video, there are two exercises which students have to do. The first exercise should be submitted and discussed straight away, and the second one is just for them to know more about the lesson. There is also homework based on British Council website on mobile apps to make sure that the students understand the materials completely.
From the presentation I did with my partner, we got some feedbacks. The first one is the quiz, we should've put the quiz before the video. And the video was too long and boring. There were also difficulties we experienced. We were stuttering while presenting our material because it was our first time, but we can improve it next time.
So here's my nearpod lesson, and don't forget to leave your comments below. Thank you!
Good job! It will be nice if you give explanation to your post about nearpod and about how you used your nearpod on the class :)
